What are the best cutting methods for MAXTERRA sheathing based on cutting rate and jobsite conditions?

There are three recommended cutting methods for MAXTERRA sheathing.

There are three recommended cutting methods for MAXTERRA sheathing:


  • Best: Score and snap using a carbide-tipped scoring knife or utility knife (depending on the thickness of MAXTERRA sheathing). Fiber-cement shears (electric or pneumatic) can also be used.
  • Better: Dust reducing circular saw or table saw equipped with HEPA vacuum extraction. Regular saw blades can be used, but a fiber-cement blade may reduce dust, produce cleaner cuts, and experience longer blade life. Support both ends of the board when cutting.
  • Good: Dust reducing circular or table saw.
